About Me

This blog started as something I did for work. Now, it's morphed into a chronicle of our family's growing pains.

I don't really dig mommy blogs that make everything sound like rainbows and fairy dust. I don't like playing with toy cars all day. I hate that I frequently smell of spit-up. Just once, I'd love to have the bathroom all to myself.

Motherhood has its definite ups and downs. I think it's okay to be honest about that, but I also try pretty hard to laugh or I'd really need a lot of therapy. I hope that's what my kids discover if they go back and read this blog some day. I want them to realize that even though they threw up on me, deprived me of sleep and reduced me to tears some days, I wouldn't have traded them for anything (except maybe a little more sanity). We have laughed a lot.

I once told my older son, "One of us isn't going to make it through this day. And I don't care who it is."

But we did make it. We are making it. We're learning, loving and having fun along the way. And I want other moms to realize that despite the fact that we're constantly multitasking, over-worked, underpaid, and maybe a little plumper than we used to be, laughter is still pretty good medicine.
